Fish from your own jetty in the inland waters of the IJsselmeer, at the fishing spots behind reception or in the fishing lake nearby.
The waterways surrounding our holiday homes are home to a variety of fish species, including common carp, mirror carp, linear carp, crucian carp and various species of whitefish.
The fish population mainly consists of carp weighing around 1 to 4 kg. We regularly stock the waters with additional carp to maintain a healthy fish population and enhance the fishing experience for our guests.
Looking for a bigger challenge? There are also some larger specimens swimming in the waters! Carp weighing 8 to 9 kg have been caught, although these larger fish are only caught occasionally.
Our fishing tip: you don't need heavy tackle. A fishing line with a diameter of 0.26 mm is more than sufficient, and a size 8 or 10 hook is a good choice. Even with relatively light tackle, you could be in for a big surprise!

* The Medemblik villa types are located on a connecting ditch where, among other fish, many small carp swim. These villa types are ideal for children, but of course for adults too.
The connecting ditch is wider in a few places. Here we have dug a few small round ponds, for example at Medemblik house numbers 781, 780, 778 and 779, and at 708, 714 and 715. At house numbers 710 and 712 the ditch is also slightly wider.
Book a holiday home with jetty
The waters around Holiday park IJsselhof are rich in different fish species, including common carp, mirror carp, linear carp, crucian carp and whitefish. We want to maintain a healthy ecosystem, which means we regularly stock new carp, including two exclusive Japanese koi carp soon.
For those looking for an extra challenge, we now also offer a densely stocked carp ditch, which you can easily sign up for at reception.
As experienced anglers, we know that the right technique can make the difference between a good catch and a disappointing day at the water. That is why we are happy to share some handy fishing tips for a successful fishing adventure at IJsselhof:

We kindly ask you to use small barbless hooks (size 8 or 10) when carp fishing and to avoid larger hooks, such as sizes 2 and 4. Together, we can help make fishing at our park as enjoyable as possible for both people and fish.
The well-being of the fish always comes first at our park. We therefore ask you to bring landing nets and unhooking mats that are completely clean and dry upon arrival. This helps prevent the spread of transmissible fish diseases.
When unhooking a fish, always place it on a wet unhooking mat and handle it with care. Keep the fish out of the water for as little time as possible and return it to the water carefully as soon as you have finished unhooking it. Together, we can ensure that fishing at our park is as safe and responsible as possible for the fish.
Taking away or consuming caught fish is not permitted. In case of violation of this rule, a fine of €50 may be imposed.
Floats and method feeder sets are available for purchase at the reception of Holiday Park IJsselhof. These sets are specially selected for the bottom conditions and fish stock in and around the park.
For float and pole fishing, 6-millimeter feed pellets are highly suitable as bait. They can easily be attached to the hook with a small elastic band. These pellets are available at the reception or can be ordered when booking via the website. Additionally, a piece of corn or a small boilie can also be used.
Supplementary feeding is permitted. For the health of the fish and optimal catches, it is recommended to use the park’s feed pellets. These pellets are available at the reception and can also be reserved in advance when booking the holiday home.
Fishing with all permitted baits is permitted.
Note: Fishing with live fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, or mammals is prohibited by law!
Night fishing is permitted, provided that the park’s peace and quiet is respected. Anglers must not disturb other guests and must comply with all park rules.
Yes, a maximum of three fishing rods may be used per accommodation. This rule applies to all anglers in and around the park and helps ensure a responsible and enjoyable fishing experience. We kindly ask you to fish within the boundaries of your own garden to avoid disturbing other anglers.
Fishing at Holiday park IJsselhof is permitted without a fishing permit. Various carp species are released into the park waters each year. Fishing is free of charge from the jetty near the holiday home, at the fishing pond and from the jetty behind the reception.
When fishing outside the park, a valid fishing permit is required. A VISpas can be obtained at Hengelsport and Pet Shop De Moel in Wervershoof, approximately 4.5 kilometres from the park. At Holiday park IJsselhof, the Catch & Release principle applies. The fish are not suitable for consumption. The reception is happy to advise on suitable fishing locations within the park.
