Hoorn Wellness 4
Wellness and nature by the water
Experience the real wellness feeling in this detached holiday home. Relax in the traditional Finnish sauna, steam room or in the hot tub.
Carp fishing takes patience, gear and technique. Coarse fishing is the opposite: a rod, a float, a piece of sweetcorn, and within five minutes you get a bite. That is why it is the perfect way to introduce children, grandchildren or a partner who has never held a rod to fishing. At IJsselhof you have your own quiet ditch teeming with coarse fish.
Keep fishing sessions short: fifteen to thirty minutes works better than an hour of sitting still. Let the child touch the float, press the bait on and scoop the fish out with the landing net themselves; those are the moments that stick. Keep a towel and some sweets nearby, because dirty hands and hunger are the two real end-of-session moments. And don't forget your phone for the first-fish photo.
You don't need much for a relaxing afternoon of coarse fishing. At reception we sell floats, simple feeder sets and pellet feed, and you can have it all ready for you when you book. You are of course welcome to bring your own rod. A landing net and landing mat are compulsory, also for coarse fish: bring them dry and clean to avoid bringing fish diseases into our waters.
Anyone who notices after a few successful afternoons that fishing has got hold of them can progress at IJsselhof. We have a densely stocked carp ditch for real enthusiasts, and accommodations with their own fishing jetty on wide water.
